My new flashlight wont stay on

Flashlights of this type are notorious for poor design. I had one where the contact spring at the top broke its connection. Others break the ground wire when the top is unscrewed. Another design flaw is trying to solder a ground connection to the anodized aluminum case - doesn't work. I am replacing the broken ground wires with longer, more flexible ones but that's not a permanent solution. Some LED board case grounds have been repaired by scraping the solder-to-case joint although in one case I had to replace the joint by wedging in a piece of bare copper wire. Hope these tips help.
