Guide :Camping, Backpacking & Hiking : E1E "Executive Elite" Flashlight

Have a Surefire Executive Elite E1e. I purchased it new in 2007 prior to deploying to Afghanistan. After a period of 7 months, the bulb burned out. I ordered a new bulb and replaced the old bulb. It lasted a couple of days and then burned out. I replaced it again with same results. Replaced the battery each time so there was always a new battery in the unit.

If you can access the "guts" of the device. Try and see if there is an electrical malfunction such as frayed wire or moisture on the circuits. It sounds like an electrical short is causing the bulb to work harder that it needs to causing its life to be drastically shortened. If its an investment, I would go ahead and set up service for the device (or if you have the capabilities and know-how to repair it yourself it might be easier). Remember though any attempt to repair an item yourself might void the warranty. I did a little research and found that all products from the manufacturer are under lifetime warranty as long as they are owned by the original owner. Go ahead and send it in for an easy hastel free repair. I am not sure if you are in the us again but I have here two different numbers to set up service Toll Free: Outside US: 800-828-8809 714-545-9444

Niether one of my Executive defenders nor my G2 will work and I have new batteries!!!

Strange how all the units have failed. Sounds like more of a battery problem. Are you using brand name batteries like Surefire, Energizer etc? I had two boxes of Chinese import batteries and most of them failed. I put them into a number of items and had problems. I stopped using them and opted to pay the extra for 'real' batteries. A bad battery can do more harm that just going flat. If it releases too much power when turned on because it isn't properly regulated it can fry the bulb or electronics in those things so equiped. Having said that the big companies also have sets of 'lemmon' batches too. If you have spare globes. First try some other batteries. If it doesn't work then use those batteries and the new globe.

Rechargable Stinger new bulb is dim orange

Could possibly be a bad switch, I would also get that battery tested out also. If you still have a receipt it should be covered under warranty. If not try sending it in anyway. Limited lifetime warranty does not include bulb, or batteries but, anything else on that Stinger should have a lifetime warranty. Of course that excludes abuse. Check out the website www.streamlight.com and go to FAQ for a nearest Authorized Service Center or send it directly to Streamlight. Address also listed on the website. Hope that helps ;)

How do I remove the battery?

This is not intended to be a user replaceable battery, although I have found a replacement battery on-line.so that means that SOME people have replaced them. the cost is $9 +s&h. I don't think most camping outfitters would be able to help you with it, But it would be worth a try. My suggestion would be (if you have one in your area) take it to a Batteries Plus store. They are quite good at replacing batteries that are NOT meant for user replacement. Best of luck to you.

I put the flashlight in the charger and the red light on the base does not come one. If I adjust the position of the device in the charger, the red light flickers and then may stay on. The light still does not charge. I replaced the battery and the bulb, assuring that I have the battery in the correct position. I thought the charger was bad, so I bought a new one. What do you think the problem is ? Are the 2 round connector points adjustable ? I see they are attached with phillips head screws.

You have a bad contact between the flashlight and the charger, as you suspected. No, those points aren't adjustable, that shouldn't stop you from trying to adjust them properly. Most likely they no longer jet out sufficiently - try to put something under them, maybe that wouldbe enough.

New, never used. Bulb appears OK. Plugged it in

The battery is replaceable, I would first take the old battery out first and test it to make sure it is charged at 12 volts before I replace it. If it is less than 12 volts than I would look at replacing it. You can order a new one from Black and Decker. They bought vector in 2006. You will need the model #, here is the link; http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/servicenet_home.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
