How to battties in a mag light. - MagLite Mag Lite® 2x 'd' Battery Flashlight In Display Box Black Case

The bottom unscrews. When you get the bottom open, screw the top(where the lightbulb is) down further.Hold the flaslight almost sideways and slide the batteries in,then turn the flashlight back up so as not to let the batteries slam. The little positive nipple goes in first for both batteries. After you screw in the bottom, then you can adjust the top end for proper usage/operation.Greg

Won't light with new batteries and bulb - MagLite Mag Lite® 2x 'd' Battery Flashlight In Display Box Black Case

Look where the batteries go and make sure there is no crud or corrosion in the housing or on the spring in the end cap .if you remove the bulb and check the voltage using a multimeter ,if its under 3 volts you have a bad connection somewhere in the housing.

Mini Maglite LED not staying on

I found this site because I too have a pile of these with that problem. I have had maglites since the time when they weren't available to the general public and have always liked them. These new LED lights are great for the light/size ratio and I was very sorry to see this product perform so poorly. After reading the comments here I went to the Maglite site and found some troubleshooting tips. Believe it or not I fixed the one in my hand and can't wait to go fix the others. They really need to spell out on the package how the LED unit works when the batteries get low. Apparantly when they do get low the unit won't dim, it will completely shut off. You turn it off and then back on again and it flashes on but then stays off. According to the troubleshooting there is a bit of electonics in this unit that will shut the unit off if the battery voltage falls below a certain threshold. This appears exactly like a poor contact problem. I thought I had try battery replacement on some of my units in the past. The toubleshooting section does also cover other possible issues and shows how to try to fix them - not a bad document. Here is the link - good luck - I hope they stay in business. I think they need to address this issue somehow or else they will silently loose their market share. http://www.maglite.com/pdf/CustServ/Mini%20Maglite%20LED%20FAQ5222007805552.pdf

Minimag LED shuts off

Hi,First question is what type of batteries have you been using.. A fault was found by Petzl a last year that identified a problem with using certain rechargeable batteries or lithium batteries in LED lights. The problem was that the batteries have a higher output than normal batteries and the heat created was damaging the LED's, shortening their life and in a couple of cases causing burning. Petzl have fixed the problem in their models and sent out warnings to outdoor stores to warn of the problem but I don't think that has spread too far across the industry..Hope this helps..

Hello the warranty details and the address are here Albert. Good choice in flashlights, but you may wish to look at LED units. The technology has moved on, and Cree LEDs are incredibly bright for the size. Some comapnies make LED modules for Maglight. I have one. http://www.maglite.com/repaircenters.asp Repair Centers Mag Instrument Inc Manufacturer of the Maglite Flashlight

Weak light I asked earlier for you folks to determine which I needed to purchase, either a new battery pack or a new transformer. I have a Mag-Lite Model RX1019, Serial 3913062, which I have had for nearly 10 years I think. The light beam is now very much diminished. Please advise which you think I need and where to buy it. If the charge lite comes on when charging it means your transformer is still good. Replace the battery. If you get no charge light transformer is bad, if this is the case (personally) i would replace the charger & battery for that peace of mind. GGBMDB

Rechargeable mag light not working .

When you dropped it you probably knocked the contacts inside out of place. or you broke a soldered connection. if you can take it apart you can most likely fix this yourself. when you remove the front lens assembly there is a retaining clip that you need to remove so you can take the guts out.....please rate this
