Guide :Camping, Backpacking & Hiking : TUF2AAPE Hard Case Pro Flashlight

I've owned my energizer hard case pro TUF2AAp for 6 months. It has never been dropped or abused. Recently the light is intermittent, when the batteries were replaced it required tapping it gently to one side for it to light up and work for awhile. I think there is a loose connection inside?

Suggested Questions And Answer :

I have a Garrity LED tuflight flashlight with 3 AAA batteries. I recently put new batteries in (the others were weak but not dead). Now I can't get it to work. I am not sure if I am not loading it all right. The batteries are in the battery case correctly but I don't know the order of the items. Battery case and then a little round thing with a spring on one side & metal on the other side. Thanks in advance.

You should load the spring/metal piece in first with the spring facing out. then the batteries.

Got new Energizer Hard Case Flashlight model IN421

Well much to our surprise the easy way is the best way. There are no instruction on the package nor on Energizer website but after googling we found reviews of the flashlight and how long it took others to find out how to put the batteries in. Although the base is DOES turn and voila....comes off to insert batteries.

Won't work after changing batteries

If the flashlight was working properly before you changed batteries, it's most likely that some tolerance is off by just a smidge so that you're not getting quite the right contact to close the circuit. You can make a thin wafer out of aluminum foil that's folded over and over onto itself and use that as a shim to increase pressure on the battery cartridge. That may be all you need.If there is a switch on this light, as opposed to a simple screw on/screw off pressure connection, I would try checking continuity in the switch to make sure that is working correctly. Many manufacturers cut corners on the fit and construction of their flashlight swtiches, so a part can go out of alignment quickly and easily, causing failure of the switch until you can nudge those parts back in line. Good luck!
