Suggested Questions And Answer :
My duracell crank light 3 in 1 is not working properly. I rotated crank handle for about a minute or 2 long, thinking that charging would be enough and led torch will light for few minutes during power cut but my light not even worked for 5mins it started blinking and led light decreased and after some time the total led light disappeared. what i need to do to retain its charging capacity and to get its initial efficiency as given during the time of purchase.
I found with my Duracell crank lights they periodically need a good charge to function well. On the side there is a 5v charger socket - suggest and 8-10 hr charge. There is also a USB with a switch between IN and OUT. With a suitable USB cable in the IN position, the light can be connected to a computer to recharge. Hope this helps. Maglite LED. Light switch is intermittent.
Have had the same issue with my 8 month old 2AA LED Maglite, don't have receipt and have tried finding a solution to get it fixed again. Lost my temper with it on a job on Friday night and smacked it into a flight case several times (was doing some urgent troubleshooting midway through the show) which seemed to fix it temporarily, however started playing up again Saturday night. The next solution was ebay and getting a new one, and this time I will be keeping the receipt and paperwork. I hope we have just been unlucky as there doesn't seem to be many people with the same issue.
Hi,Unfortunately not, I've seen more and more of these coming back to the shop here with faults. Mostly they seem to be connection problems like yours. Pity, MAG are excellent and have really tarnished their reputation with this LED gimmick. A lot of the customers who return their LED's to us take a traditional MAG as a replacement.. I bought 2 norlite 8-nswat cree xr-e tactical lights. One never worked and the other one works occasionally. I tried switching parts around but could never get the silver one to work. Now neither one works. Switches work, batteries are new.
Petzl Tikka switch is not working properly. Light not steady.
Hi,Would you describe the light as flickering and fading perhaps? Are you using rechargable or Lithium batteries? Here's an excerpt from a Petzl alert put out a couple of years ago. It may shed some light on your problem..LED light sources are susceptible to being damaged by the use of
lithium batteries due to the different characteristics of lithium
batteries in discharge. This has meant that some people have had
problems with their headtorches failing when using such batteries...
Petzl have reported this problem and other manufacturers are expected
to follow suit. However this does not affect all head torches...
There are problems being reported over the LED lamps in certain
headtorches when used with lithium batteries. Incandescent bulbs will
also suffer a reduced burn-time when used with lithium batteries
although this is less severe.
This is because the lithium batteries have a higher output during discharge.
The benefits of a lithium battery are the increased burn time,
especially at low temperatures over the traditional alkaline batery.
LR6 or AA and LR03 or AAA are the two size of battery litkely to be used in a headlamp.
Petzl are one of the few manufacturers to advise on this at the moment. Other manufacturers products will also be affected.
The following Petzl headlamps should not be used with lithium batteries:
TIKKA / ZIPKA range: TIKKINA / TIKKA / ZIPKA /
TACTIKKA / TIKKA PLUS / ZIPKA PLUS / TACTIKKA PLUS / TIKKA XP /
