LED Flashlight Battery Drain Problem

This particular flashlight uses a microchip that consumes the power of the batteries, whether in use or not. Loosen the case to where the batteries go in, so there is no contact with polarity. Or just take the batteries out completely and replace them for actual use. GGBMDB

I have a Streamlight Strion Xenon compact flashlight that has served me well for two years. Recently the 'twist to stay on' feature has failed. The 'push the tailswitch on' feature is still functioning, but the thumb tires after a bit. The battery is good and takes a good charge and the light is still bright. Everything still seems to be tight. I took the tail cap off and remove/replaced the battery, .. Any ideas? Thanks, Ray Paulson, Lincoln, Nebraska

Ray, sounds like the switch has a problem. Streamlight is usually really good about fixing things. If you can drop by a Stream retailer in your area, they will probably give you a new tail cap. Or contact STREAM directly. One thing, when you screw the tailcap tight, does the light come on? I have a SUREFIRE that does that, but I dont have a twist on Streamlight.

I have a Streamlight branded M3 Tactical Illuminator, this light was/is made by Insight, and have used it daily for the past three years and wounded it for about six. Just last week the light was removed the reattached to my pistol and now the light can not be removed. I am guessing that the locking barks broken but can't remove the light to confirm or fix the Robles..

You should get a new one

Niether one of my Executive defenders nor my G2 will work and I have new batteries!!!

Strange how all the units have failed. Sounds like more of a battery problem. Are you using brand name batteries like Surefire, Energizer etc? I had two boxes of Chinese import batteries and most of them failed. I put them into a number of items and had problems. I stopped using them and opted to pay the extra for 'real' batteries. A bad battery can do more harm that just going flat. If it releases too much power when turned on because it isn't properly regulated it can fry the bulb or electronics in those things so equiped. Having said that the big companies also have sets of 'lemmon' batches too. If you have spare globes. First try some other batteries. If it doesn't work then use those batteries and the new globe.

Streamlight stinger not bright

No! the last thing you want to do is get another light, if this light is still in top shape I suggest you send it back to Streamlight for warranty repair. Lifetime warranty on the light alone as far as the battery goes if you're getting an authentic Streamlight Rechargeable battery there shouldn't be a problem. If it's a knock-off battery you're on your own. Check this website out www.streamlight.com send it back to the address in contact or find an Authorized service center in your area. From what you're telling me here I honestly think it's a bad battery, I could be wrong it may be a bad switch. The switch is covered under a lifetime warranty. So take advatange of it while you can! ;) hope that helps.

How can I fix my rechargeable portable spotlight/flashlight after no charge for 1(one) year?

I replaced the battery in mine(coleman powermate) for 10 bucks but you have to be careful in how you disassemble it and put it back together. Batteries sulfate after awhile like a car battery.
