How do i replace the bulb - Makita 18V Lxt Lithium Ion Rechargeable Flashlight BML185

Julio, the black bezel will unscrew from the main housing. The bulb is either a screw-in or friction fit (pushes in) type. Most hardware stores will carry a replacement bulb that works for this flashlight. Be sure to take the burned out bulb with you to match it correctly.Hope this helps.

I have a Cyclops 2 cell (2xCR123) flashlight that looks like the current CYC-XCF, but has no clip on the side. I bought two CR123-size cells that are rechargeable, but did not notice they are 3.7v each when fully charged. I put the cells in the flashlight right out of the package and they were GREAT--the light was as bright as I have ever seen it. I then recharged the cells, and when the switch was pressed on, the bulb went POOF! Obviously, a bulb designed for 6v was not up to handling 7.4v! In fact, I found one web site which described the bulb as "Ultra Bright 80 Lumens Xenon Bulb (T1-1/2 Xenon 4.8V)," for the new light with the side clip. 4.8v bulb for 6v?? Can you give me a part number for, a bulb which can handle two 3.7v cells? Since the original bulb might be rated at 4.8v, theone I need might be rated at 6v (over-driven by the same percentage). Thank you, Joe Hathaway

The CR123 is a 6-volt cell.

How to replace witch assembly in rechargeable Maglite?

1st, remove the battery via the **** end of the barrel. 2nd, carefully remove the little RUBBER CUP that covers the depression off/on switch. Gently maneuver it out by lifting the edge of it then pulling it out. Do not cut or puncture it. This little rubber cup keeps water and dirt out of the switch. 3rd, Remove the HEAD (light assembly) off where the charging rings are, just behind the switch. Hold the barrel with one hand and with the other twist the head until it begins to unscrew from the barrel and until it is free. Upon completion of this step, set the barrel aside. If you have a digital camera you can photograph each step of this so that when you reassemble, you can simply refer to the photos for reverse order assembly. 4th, Unscrew the LENS CAP and set it aside. At first it may seem as if it is not unscrewing but keep going as it will come off. Upon completion, set the lens cap aside. 5th, Hold the BULB with a tissue and pull straight out with out twisting. Do not hold these types of bulbs with your bare hands as the moisture and oils of your skin can damage the bulb when the switch is turned on. Upon completion secure the bulb and set it aside. 6th, You will now be left holding the BEAM ADJUSTMENT HEAD which also contains the OFF/ON SWITCH. 7th, Firmly hold the ADJUSTMENT HEAD (the large portion) in one hand, then place the small end in the palm of your other hand and push the small portion through and out of the large portion. Set the head aside. You will now be holding the short barrel which contains the bulb holder and the OFF/ON SWITCH. 8th, Now look at the OFF/ON SWITCH. You will see a white plastic cylinder looking up at you. When you push it down you will hear and feel it 'click as it is engaged in the 'on' position. This and the assembly it is contained with-in must now be removed from the short barrel containing it. *CAUTION* When you finally ( In step #9 below) remove the SWITCH from the short barrel, the assembly containing the switch itself will want to 'spring' apart into two halves because it is under slight pressure due to the spring which puts tention on the OFF/ON button. Hold it firmly until you have it completly removed from the short barrel. Pay attention as you do this so that you can remember how to put it back together at reassembly time. 9th, Using a small common tip screw driver, depress the WHITE plastic OFF/ON button as far down as it will go. While you are holding it down with the screwdirver use the thumb of your other hand and push against the BULB HOLDER, this will cause the SWITCH assembly to move forward about 1/4inch and to the point where you can release pressure on the switch with the screwdriver. At this point DO NOT continue pushing. 10th, look down into the barrel where the white plastic switch is that you had depressed in step # 9. You will see a BLACK plastic housing which holds the WHITE OFF/ON SWITCH. Using your small blade screwdriver, slide it behind the BLACK plastic housing and gently apply a prying pressure which will force that housing containing the SWITCH assembly, to move forward and exit the short barrel containing all of this. REMEMBER! It is at THIS point that the two-part housing holding the switch assembly will want to 'spring' apart. Pay attention and go slowly. When you reassemble this part of the flashlight, know that in order for the switch assembly to go back into the short barrel the WHITE PLASTIC OFF/ON button has to be DEPRESSED, do it with the screwdriver, enough to clear the interior side of the barrel. Depress it and gently push the assembly back into the barrel until it is back where it began. Be sure to line up the male notch on the exterior of the switch housing with the female grove of the interior of the small barrel. If you have the notch lined up and the switch button depressed all the way it will slip right into place with a happy clicking sound. Upon completion of that step, reassemble the rest of the components in reverse order. There you have it. Good luck. :)

I bought a vector 20 million power series sport/spot light and based my purchase on reviewsand company reputation. After receiving the light in the mail I followed the instructions charging it for the proper length of time then tried the light at night in a wooded area near my home. First impressions were anything but favorable, the light was poorly designed ergonomicallythe on-off switches were positioned to put it bluntly in a very stupid place making it awkward to turn off and on. I was ok with the lights size and weight it was just the way it was designed that made its size and weight a detriment to ease of use. Next after a several day full and complete charge I put the light in the trunk of my car to be ready for use on a weekend camping trip. When we arrived at the campsite and began setting up I got the vector out with high expectation of it lighting up my area so I could set up my tent so I set it up turned it on and at first thought wow this is great adjusted the stand started setting up camp when the brand new VECTOR 20 million candle power light slowly started to dim out all to my chagrin of course. within minutes it was dead as a doornail. Almost a HUNDRED dollars for a flashlight and my old trusty 1 million candle power DORCEY spotlight purchased from Harbor Freight that fortunately was in the trunk of my car came to the rescue.A cheap 10 dollar spotlight not only was brighter but it lasted the entire time it took to set up camp. After the weekend was over and I was back at home I emailed the vector company and to be honest was treated with a cross between sarcasism and indifference when I expressed my concerns. I was more than a little surprised and caught completely off guard so much so I allowed myself to be dismissed when I asked if I could trade in y brand new spotlight on one of equal or the one I was interested in trading on was a fair bit more expensive. My less than polite or helpful customer service represenative told me that they do not do that and in so much words he made it clear that I was stuck with the one I have and that it is clearly written in the ad that it is a large floodlight,. I gave up figured I had been stuck with the floodlight and swallowed my pride after writing a less than favorable review on the floodlight. I just had to write again I just took the light out to look at a car I had trouble with today turned it on and thought hey this is working ok but within 15 minutes the light dimmed very quickly till it was stone dead and I could not see anything. So out of sheer frustration I am writing this letter to express my feelings once more. Again I broke out my 10 dollar dorcey floodlight that had been hanging on a hook not plugged in and charging just hanging took it outside and it not only lit up my car but lasted the entire time and was still going strong when I finished brought it in hung it up and put the charger on it. So after this long winded explanation about one of your products it comes down to "I WOULD NEVER AGAIN BUY ANY VECTOR PRODUCTS NOR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!" I am stuck with this lemon I am trying to decide what the best job could be for this floodlight and all I could think of is that it would work well as a corner weight on the tarpaulin that I have covering my car. Sincerely, James R. Clement. A dissatisfied customer .

This light has'nt really like others much that can go wrong. I'm sorry to hear you had so many problems. I have this light and recieved it second hand, without an owners manual. I went to VectorMfg.com which redirected me to Black & Deckers web site. I there downloaded an owners manual. If I would'nt have done that I may have also posted many of the questions reguarding this light. There are many inportant things to know before use and continued use. The bulb and battery are replacable. Hope this helps! Matthew
