I've owned this flashlight for years.Grasp the whole front of the lamp piece (including the rubber cover), and twist in a counter-clockwise direction to remove. Then squeeze together the two black tabs and pull the battery compartment out to replace the batteries.

I can't figure how to change the battery on this hardcase lantern took off the rubber surrounding the lantern face, but nothing else seems to come off without unscrewing, But seems like those sre rivits and not screws Thank you for your help. If there were a diagram I cound probable figure it out, they say a picture is worth a thousand words (smile)

Simply grasp the whole front of the lamp piece (including the rubber cover), and twist in a counter-clockwise direction to remove. Then squeeze together the two black tabs and pull the battery compartment out to replace the batteries.
