I have a Cyclops 2 cell (2xCR123) flashlight that looks like the current CYC-XCF, but has no clip on the side. I bought two CR123-size cells that are rechargeable, but did not notice they are 3.7v each when fully charged. I put the cells in the flashlight right out of the package and they were GREAT--the light was as bright as I have ever seen it. I then recharged the cells, and when the switch was pressed on, the bulb went POOF! Obviously, a bulb designed for 6v was not up to handling 7.4v! In fact, I found one web site which described the bulb as "Ultra Bright 80 Lumens Xenon Bulb (T1-1/2 Xenon 4.8V)," for the new light with the side clip. 4.8v bulb for 6v?? Can you give me a part number for, a bulb which can handle two 3.7v cells? Since the original bulb might be rated at 4.8v, theone I need might be rated at 6v (over-driven by the same percentage). Thank you, Joe Hathaway

The CR123 is a 6-volt cell.

Have a Surefire Executive Elite E1e. I purchased it new in 2007 prior to deploying to Afghanistan. After a period of 7 months, the bulb burned out. I ordered a new bulb and replaced the old bulb. It lasted a couple of days and then burned out. I replaced it again with same results. Replaced the battery each time so there was always a new battery in the unit.

If you can access the "guts" of the device. Try and see if there is an electrical malfunction such as frayed wire or moisture on the circuits. It sounds like an electrical short is causing the bulb to work harder that it needs to causing its life to be drastically shortened. If its an investment, I would go ahead and set up service for the device (or if you have the capabilities and know-how to repair it yourself it might be easier). Remember though any attempt to repair an item yourself might void the warranty. I did a little research and found that all products from the manufacturer are under lifetime warranty as long as they are owned by the original owner. Go ahead and send it in for an easy hastel free repair. I am not sure if you are in the us again but I have here two different numbers to set up service Toll Free: Outside US: 800-828-8809 714-545-9444

Rechargable Stinger new bulb is dim orange

Could possibly be a bad switch, I would also get that battery tested out also. If you still have a receipt it should be covered under warranty. If not try sending it in anyway. Limited lifetime warranty does not include bulb, or batteries but, anything else on that Stinger should have a lifetime warranty. Of course that excludes abuse. Check out the website and go to FAQ for a nearest Authorized Service Center or send it directly to Streamlight. Address also listed on the website. Hope that helps ;)

Eveready 6volt plastic flashlights do not work more than once.

I would switch over to a small LED flashlight -- the one I've had in my car for two perhaps three years is about the size of a roll of quarters and I got from Harbor Freight as one of their giveaways. Regular alkaline batteries seem to work fine but for cold weather I'd recommend using Lithium batterties.
