I have a Dual Fuel lantern several years old. It is the smaller one that fits into a black plastic cover. I only used it a couple of times when it wouldn't light. Does 290-411T suggest the model #? I took it apart but would like to view schematics to put it back together after cleaning everything about it.I am a mechanical and computer technician. It seems that after pumping the pressure into it it wont release any fuel/pressure to light it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We have a thetford C200cs on the motorhome we have just bought (2003). No water seems to pump, & the blue flush button doesn't seem to work. Are there any instructions availabe? The fuse has been checked & is OK. Does the led come on all the time, or only when flushed? (which it won't do) VC

Red light is just a reed switch that turns on the LED when a floating magnet inside the cassette floats up (when the cassette is full) and switches on the reed switch thereby switching on the LED. It just tells you the cassette is full and you need to empty it. I'd say either your button or electric valve is broken. All the button does is allow the electric valve to break the seal that allows water to flow from your onboard water system. I'll assume that the water in the rest of your motorhome is working? So check the switch first. You can lever off the switch/LED panel and remove the square connector from the back of the button. Get a multimeter and set it to either Continuity or Resistance (Ohms). Place the connectors on 2 of the switch pins and press the switch (the switch is actually 2 switches with 4 pins, but each pair of pins is connected together) - if you get a beep (if multimeter on continuity) or low resistance reading (if on resistance) then the switch is working - if this is the case then it's probably the electric valve. If the switch is not working, then that's your culprit. When you replace the connecter you can replace it either way round.

Minimag LED shuts off

Hi,First question is what type of batteries have you been using.. A fault was found by Petzl a last year that identified a problem with using certain rechargeable batteries or lithium batteries in LED lights. The problem was that the batteries have a higher output than normal batteries and the heat created was damaging the LED's, shortening their life and in a couple of cases causing burning. Petzl have fixed the problem in their models and sent out warnings to outdoor stores to warn of the problem but I don't think that has spread too far across the industry..Hope this helps..

Makita ML 140 torch. Old battery would not hold a charge as it was very old. Torch works well with a new Makita PA14 battery. But the handle gets quite hot and I need to dismantle it to find the problem. One would not expect heat from the handle but rather from the head. I have undone the screws but the swivel part also has to be removed for access. What is correct procedure? I am radio technician Thanks, Dave B.

Remove the lens, and bulb holder. look down into the cavity, and you will be able to see the spring loaded pivots. Find sonething narrow to push them in with, so that you can remove the head. here is my fix (with photos) for the 18v version

I purchased a replacement battery, designed for this lantern, but can't get it to fit it anywhere. Is there a trick to this? I'm sure it's the right battery.
