From what you're telling me Rob I think that the button is defective from the factory.I would take it back for replacement or reund. To the best of my knowledge there is no easy way to repair it. Sorry I'm not more help. Thank you and hope you have good holidays

When i press the on off swith my flashlight wont stay on unless button is pressed.

The button is worn out and needs replaced; the catch mechanism inside the button is either broken off or worn out so much that it won't catch. In most cases, it is less expensive to replace the whole light. All things break eventually! Rate this solution!

I have a Cyclops 2 cell (2xCR123) flashlight that looks like the current CYC-XCF, but has no clip on the side. I bought two CR123-size cells that are rechargeable, but did not notice they are 3.7v each when fully charged. I put the cells in the flashlight right out of the package and they were GREAT--the light was as bright as I have ever seen it. I then recharged the cells, and when the switch was pressed on, the bulb went POOF! Obviously, a bulb designed for 6v was not up to handling 7.4v! In fact, I found one web site which described the bulb as "Ultra Bright 80 Lumens Xenon Bulb (T1-1/2 Xenon 4.8V)," for the new light with the side clip. 4.8v bulb for 6v?? Can you give me a part number for, a bulb which can handle two 3.7v cells? Since the original bulb might be rated at 4.8v, theone I need might be rated at 6v (over-driven by the same percentage). Thank you, Joe Hathaway

The CR123 is a 6-volt cell.

My new flashlight wont stay on

Flashlights of this type are notorious for poor design. I had one where the contact spring at the top broke its connection. Others break the ground wire when the top is unscrewed. Another design flaw is trying to solder a ground connection to the anodized aluminum case - doesn't work. I am replacing the broken ground wires with longer, more flexible ones but that's not a permanent solution. Some LED board case grounds have been repaired by scraping the solder-to-case joint although in one case I had to replace the joint by wedging in a piece of bare copper wire. Hope these tips help.
