Ok, problem is the acid has corroded and caused a white powder residue to form, you will have to spray a solvent into the torch to free the batteries... bad news? the corrosion cannot be fully cleared and the maglite will always be on the blink... sorry but i have tried several times for people and just cannot clear it out fiully

I have a 3AA LED mini maglite with stuck batteries. The best I can tell they have not leaked. I tried freezing the unit as well as heating the barrel to no avail. Is there a way of removing the bulb assembly out the top so I can use a dow to tap the batteries out? If not, how can I get them out? Thanks for any help you can give.

Well, I have a 3 cell mini maglite AA with a corroded battery stuck up next to the LED. I have searched but not found a way to remove the LED to push out the battery with a dowel. The best solution I read about was to drill a hole in the battery and insert a large screw and pull it all out. (My Maglite is from 2009 or 2010, but I think they made this model in 2011, 2012 and 2013- this is for SEO!)

The bottom unscrews. When you get the bottom open, screw the top(where the lightbulb is) down further.Hold the flaslight almost sideways and slide the batteries in,then turn the flashlight back up so as not to let the batteries slam. The little positive nipple goes in first for both batteries. After you screw in the bottom, then you can adjust the top end for proper usage/operation.Greg

Flashlight batteries stuck in body

There are a couple of ways that can free a cell that has expended and is wedged inside a light. One is to remove the tailcap and rap the end of the battery tube squarely against a piece of soft wood like pine. It will keep from damaging the end of the battery tube and the shock my slowly work the cell out of the light until it comes out. Another is to tie a strong cord around the head of the light so that when you hang it the tail end is hanging down. Remove the tailcap, of course, and go outside to a safe place where a flying battery won't hurt anyone or anything. Start swinging the light as fast as you can so that centrifugal force can pull the stuck cell out of the battery tube. There are a couple of other things you can do if the cell is near enough to the end of the battery tube.. If you have a soldering iron and can reach to the end of the battery with it, try soldering a strong length of wire to the end of the battery and pull the cell out. I hope one of these helps. ;)
