When you dropped it you probably knocked the contacts inside out of place. or you broke a soldered connection. if you can take it apart you can most likely fix this yourself. when you remove the front lens assembly there is a retaining clip that you need to remove so you can take the guts out.....please rate this

Maglight Rechargeable When ever I put the rubber switch cover in my mag, I can not turn the light off, but when I remove it, the switch works just like it is supposed to. Is this a common problem and if so, is there an easy fix or should I just leave the cover off.

Did you replace the switch cover? is it original? does the cover look deformed under neath?call up the customer service 1-800-283-5562 or email [email protected] if the switch or cover is defective you should be sent a new one at no charge

Weak light I asked earlier for you folks to determine which I needed to purchase, either a new battery pack or a new transformer. I have a Mag-Lite Model RX1019, Serial 3913062, which I have had for nearly 10 years I think. The light beam is now very much diminished. Please advise which you think I need and where to buy it. If the charge lite comes on when charging it means your transformer is still good. Replace the battery. If you get no charge light transformer is bad, if this is the case (personally) i would replace the charger & battery for that peace of mind. GGBMDB

Rechargeable maglite Light comes on in vehicles charger for 12v, back up 110v charger light comes but light is not charging. Battery only shows 2.5 volts. I have pulled the flashlight apart for cleanning brefore and I am sure i put it back together properlly. I have checked online to look for a diagram of the charging rings to make sure i put everything back the way it was supposed to be but cant find one.

Unless you are using your Mag. in extreme dusty, dirty conditions, it is not necessary to take it apart for cleaning. The Mag. is sealed against dirt and moisture. Mags are about the best lite made but always remember; 'Anything man made is subject to fail and usually at the most inconvenient time.' If I knew exactly where you are at in the dissasembly I could help you reassemble it. However, barring that; Go to; www.maglite.com, they can help you with what ever you need. Good luck. :)

I have an old rechargable maglite. when I put it on the charger the red charger light does not come on and it will not charge. However if I depress the on button when it is in the charger the red light will come on but it cannot be charged like this. I have a new battery and it happens in both the ac and dc charger so I assume the problem is in the flashlight.

Weak beam System seems to be chargering. Very weak beam, not sure if it is a faulty lamp or battery? Light is appox. 8 years old without a problem. help?

I has the same problem with a 2D maglite. What cured it was to remove the lamp, depress the lamp holder fully and then put a spike (I used the point of a pair of compasses) behind the thin metal strip which runs down one side of the plastic "hole" that is revealed. Then using a pair of fine-nosed pliers bend the end metal strip toward the outside of the hole. This then pushes the contract strip against the lap holder and a better beam ensues. I also used a strip of clean plain paper to make sure that there was no dirt between the holder and the contact. No guarantees for your problem but it worked for me.

How do i install a car charge for my mag? - MagLite - Mag Charger System 110v (M) Model - RX1019

Hi I had one about 15 years ago and it was installed in the car. The click in base used to charge it has a metal base which can be screwed into place in the vehicle. The base take's 12 volts from your mains charger, If you still have the full kit supplied with the torch you will have got a lead for connecting the base up to the 12 volt supply. If you do not have the lead you will have to find a lead with the same connection on the end as the mains one. You will need to use an in-line car fuse holder with a fuse of 6 amp's size to protect the lead and charger. Observe the polarity of the lead coming from the mains charger and duplicate it with the lead in the car. (reversed polarity will prevent the charger from working.) In my case I used the cigarette charger supply in the car to power it. (the load is very small) Regards
