Flashlight batteries stuck in body

There are a couple of ways that can free a cell that has expended and is wedged inside a light. One is to remove the tailcap and rap the end of the battery tube squarely against a piece of soft wood like pine. It will keep from damaging the end of the battery tube and the shock my slowly work the cell out of the light until it comes out. Another is to tie a strong cord around the head of the light so that when you hang it the tail end is hanging down. Remove the tailcap, of course, and go outside to a safe place where a flying battery won't hurt anyone or anything. Start swinging the light as fast as you can so that centrifugal force can pull the stuck cell out of the battery tube. There are a couple of other things you can do if the cell is near enough to the end of the battery tube.. If you have a soldering iron and can reach to the end of the battery with it, try soldering a strong length of wire to the end of the battery and pull the cell out. I hope one of these helps. ;)

I have a Johnlite Super SearchEye 10,000,000 candle power lantern that has been sitting for quite awile without use. Turning it on produced a very din light in the bulb then it went out after a bit. I recharged the battery (15 hours) and tried again, same thing. Can the battery be damaged? I'll thank you in advance, Ed Phillips

I have the same battery problem as noted by the person who first asked this question. Can you please tell me where I can buy a replacement 12V/20 HR battery. The spec number on the battery is C000018256. Thanks.

Pelican 4300 I have two of these pelican 4300 series dive lights. Both purchased at the same time about 10mths ago. First one wouldn't light about a month ago, opened up and appeared that one contact spring at the bottom had burnt out (dark, brittle) unlike clean copper on rest of the connections. Now my second one has done the same. No cheap batteries, these are decent Energizers. Wondering if this is a common problem and if warranty replacement is an option. Cheers

Send it back to Pelican. They have a lifetime warranty and are one of the few companies that actually stand behind their products.

C2 Centurion - won't light

I guess from the manaufacturer or retailers point of view, fixing it yourself would void the warranty as there isn't much you can do without dismantling it more than is necessary to fit batteries.
